The Foresight Design Initiative fosters action and dialog on sustainable innovation in Chicago. It undertakes both its own programs, such as the Chicago Sustainable Business Alliance, Chicago Green Drinks, and Urban Sustainable Design Studio, and consults on the development of others with a range of partners. Foresight views Design as a systematic approach to problem-solving that applies not only to traditional design fields, like graphics and architecture, but to business and policymaking. Through its diverse activities, the non-profit organization engages the general public, business and government to build community, educate and take action to sustain and improve the quality of life without sacrificing the needs of future generations. Foresight’s Chicago Sustainability Hub is a moderated, central source for information about sustainability-related events, jobs, and issues relevant to the Chicagoland area. Foresight’s Chicago Sustainability email lists includes many of the most sustainability minded people and businesses in the area. Volume is kept to a minimum; most items are compiled into the biweekly e-newsletter. Upon subscribing, you can choose to join the general and/or the sustainable business list(s). Foresight’s lists are never sold nor shared.
